- Lazy morning. Take a picnic lunch and travel to the head of Murchison Falls
- Exploring Murchison Falls. Return to camp. Evening dinner.

- Early lunch and dept Nile Camp for Paraa at 13.00 hrs (40 mins journey)
- 14.00 hrs Go for 3 hr River Nile game cruise upstream to Murchison Falls
- Return to Paraa at 17.00 hrs and transfer to Paraa Lodge on north bank. Evening dinner.

Day 3
- Lazy morning around the wonderful swimming pool
- 15.00 hrs Go for 4 hr game drive down to the Nile Delta with Lake Albert
- .....a wide variety of big game - antelope, giraffe, buffalo, hippo, elephant and possible lion and even leopard. Return for evening dinner

6 day safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park

- Dept Entebbe/ Kampala 09.00 hrs for 7 hr drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
- Stop at Mbarara for lunch break
- Continue to Ishasha Wilderness Camp (southern sector of the Park). Evening dinner.

Day 1
- Early morning game drive.......looking especially for lion and elephant
- Return to camp for lunch. Late afternoon game drive.
- Return to camp. Evening dinner.

Day 2
- Depart at 10.00 hrs. 2.5 hrs journey northwards to Mweya Lodge (northern sector of the Park)
- Check in at Mweya. 15.00 hrs go for 2 hr Kazinga Channel game cruise out to Lake Edward
- Return at 17.00 hrs. Time for a swim before evening dinner.
- Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 3
- Lazy morning around the swimming pool or optional chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura Gorge.
- 15.00 hrs afternoon game and scenic drive up to the volcanic crater area. Great views across
- to the Rwenzori Mountains. Return for evening dinner.
- Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 4
- 06.30 hrs early start for game drive out along Kasenyi Track towards Lake George.
- Looking for lion in particular but also good sightings of other big game......antelope of various
- kinds, buffalo, hippo, elephant and possibly leopard. Return for late breakfast and mid-day siesta.
- 17.00 hrs evening game drive. Return for evening dinner
- Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 5
- Dept Mweya Lodge at 09.00 hrs.
- Travel back to Kampala via Fort Portal and Mubende..

6 day safari to Lake Mburo National Park & Kibale Forest chimpanzees

- Stop at Masaka for lunch break
- Continue to Mihingo Lodge set high on a rock overlooking a game watering-hole. Evening dinner.

Day 1
- Morning free to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting of this lodge. Lake Mburo is one of Uganda’s Smallest National Parks but has certain species of game unseen elsewhere in Uganda - eland (Africa’s largest antelope), impala, topi (only seen elsewhere at Ishasha), zebra (only seen elsewhere in Kidepo) as well as leopard, buffalo, hyaena and a range of smaller animals.
- Afternoon boat trip on Lake Mburo – hippo, crocs and a wonderful variety of birdlife. Evening dinner.
- Overnight: Mihingo Lodge
Day 2
- Early morning game drive or guided ranger-led walk followed by a lazy morning.
- After lunch a drive to visit Kazuma look-out point. Good game viewing en route. Evening dinner.

Day 3
- 11.00 hrs departure with packed lunch via Sanga Gate to Mbarara – short break here.
- On via Bushenyi and Kasese to arrive at Kibale Forest late afternoon. Evening dinner.

Day 4
- 08.00 hrs walk down to the Kibale Forest Centre to begin chimpanzee tracking at 08.30 hrs. Tracking permits have to be booked well in advance. Kibale Forest is one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests and tracking is an amazing experience.
- Afternoon walking in nearby Bigodi swamp.....home to a great variety of birdlife. Evening dinner.
- Overnight: Primate Safari Lodge
Day 5
- Depart Primate Safari Lodge at 09.00 hrs
- Travel back to Kampala.
- Arrive Entebbe/Kampala mid afternoon.

Day 6
7 day Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking safari

- Depart at 09.00 hrs for the 6 hr journey south-westwards to Bwindi Forest. Wonderful scenery en route across the Kigezi Mountains (the ‘Little Switzerland of Africa’).

- Overnight: Bwindi Forest Mantana Tented Camp
Day 3
- Gorilla tracking starts at 08.30 hrs. Sensible shoes and long trousers, plus a pair of light cotton Gloves, are recommended since you may be climbing in pursuit of where your gorilla family nested last night. Tracking can take anything between 2 and 7 hours, depending upon where your family have moved to during the early morning. Once your family is discovered you will spend one hour quietly observing them....this is one of life’s magical moments ! If tracking finishes early, i.e. before lunch, there is the option of further forest guide-led walking.
- Return for evening dinner.
- Overnight: Bwindi Forest Mantana Tented Camp
Day 4
- 09.00 hrs dept northwards for Kibale Forest (journey time 5 hrs). Arrive late afternoon.

Day 5

Day 7
- Dept. Entebbe/Kampala 09.00 hrs for the journey south to Lake Mburo National Park Reserve midway between Masaka and Mbarara (DT 5hrs) stopping at the Equator en route for a break.
- Early afternoon arrival at Mihingo Lodge, a small new luxury lodge perched high on a rock overlooking a waterhole on the perimeter of the Reserve.
- Time to relax and watch the wildlife or go for a dip in the swimming pool before dinner. Lake Mburo is one of Uganda's smallest game parks but it is home to impala and eland (Africa’s largest antelope) which are not seen elsewhere in the country. Also herds of zebra and topi (both seen only in one other part of Uganda) as well as buffalo. Its bird-life is wonderful. Leopard seen here in the past by Uganda Experience.

Day 1
- Morning: boat trip on Lake Mburo…. hippo, crocodile etc. and a remote chance of seeing the very elusive sitatunga – a small antelope which spends much of its life in water. For birdwatchers this is the only place where you will see the African finfoot. Look out also for the papyrus gonalek.
- Then drive via Ruroko Track, to Kazuma Lookout Point for a lunchtime picnic 'with a view'.
- Return drive via Warukiri and Zebra Tracks - with early evening approaching there should be good wildlife sightings. Evening dinner

Day 2
- Morning: the choice of either being lazy or going on a 2-3 hr game walk led by a park ranger.
- Lunch at the camp before afternoon departure via Sanga Gate for Lake Bunyonyi (DT 3.5 hrs). Bunyonyi is set high in the mountains of south- west Uganda – the 'little Switzerland of Africa' and is a good base for exploring this unique part of Uganda with its terraced farming and proximity to Rwanda Evening dinner.

Day 3
- Morning free for island walking.
- After lunch.....on Lake Bunyonyi ………absolute stillness and beauty..........Habuharo’s motor- boat will take you down the lake almost to the Rwanda border. Breath-taking scenery and exquisite bird-life. Look out for otters.
- Back for evening dinner.

Day 4
- Morning: leave via Kabale for a spectacular drive north-eastwards across the Kigezi hills towards to the southern tip of Queen Elizabeth National Park at Ishasha (DT 3 hrs). Incredible mountain scenery en route. This area is not visited by many overseas travellers because it is right off the beaten track and is seriously in the bush. The Ishasha river is Uganda’s border with DR Congo and this part of QENP is famous for its tree-creeping lions. There is also an abundance of other big game here and a stay in Ishasha is always memorable, if only for the night-time noise of wildlife. Excellent bird watching too at this wonderful camp.

Day 5
- Camp life deep in the bush. Lion and other big game hunting…there is so much to see…….birdwatching……..being lazy…………whatever you want !

Day 6
- As yesterday..........the Camp is situated on the banks of the Ntungwe river and you may find elephant coming to water in the river less than 50 metres away from your tent on the opposite bank. This is luxury bush camping at its best.

Day 7
- Morning departure for Mweya Lodge (DT 3 hrs), set in the heart of Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for lunch .
- Entry to the Park is via Katunguru Gate and the final part of this journey turns into a game drive .…..elephant, buffalo, Uganda kob, waterbuck, bushbuck, warthog, giant forest hog and a great display of birdlife. The lodge is perched on the tip of a peninsula with glorious views northwards along the Kazinga Channel and westwards across Lake Edward towards the Virunga Mountains of the Congo.
- Afternoon: a 2 hr wildlife boat trip along the Kazinga Channel out to Lake Edward – this is a highlight of the tour and the profusion of hippo is a speciality.
- Time for a swim in the pool before evening dinner.

Day 8
- Morning: 6.00 hrs departure for a game drive out along Kasenyi track towards Lake George looking in particular for lion and hyena but with plenty of other game around also..
- Back for late breakfast and mid-day siesta.
- Afternoon: a scenic drive into the crater district with its silence and atmospheric views across to the Rwenzori Mountains – the ‘ Mountains of the Moon’.
- Looking for elephant and leopard on the leisurely return early evening. Evening dinner.

Day 9
- 10.00 hrs departure northwards towards Fort Portal arriving for late lunch at Kibale Forest Primate Safari Camp (DT 3.5 hrs). This is a new camp set right in Kibale Forest, Uganda’s most popular chimpanzee tracking area. The forest is also home to several other species of monkey as well as a wonderful variety of birds, butterflies and small mammals. It consist of a mixture of tents and chalets.
- Rest of the afternoon free or guided forest walking can be arranged. Evening dinner.

Day 10
- 08.00 hrs meet for chimpanzee tracking. The chances of a close sighting of the chimpanzees are good but, as with any wildlife tracking, not guaranteed. Tracking can take between 2 – 4 hrs. Alternatively, there are shorter and more leisurely guide-led walks on offer.
- Lunch either in the forest or back at the Lodge.
- Afternoon guide-led walking in Kibale Forest or Magombe Swamp - home to several birds not seen elsewhere in Uganda…..otherwise an afternoon at your leisure. Evening dinner.

Day 11
- 07.00 hrs departure for a full day's journey north up the western side of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park (DT8 hrs) via Fort Portal, Kyenjojo, Hoima, Masindi and Budongo Forest stopping for a lunch break at either Hoima.
- Then via Biso and Butiaba (Rift Valley Escarpment view across Lake Albert) to the Nile ferry at Paraa to reach Paraa Lodge on the north side. This luxury lodge, overlooking the river, is well worth the journey and there should be time for a swim in the beautiful pool before evening dinner.
- After all your travelling this will be your home for the emaining four nights of your tour

Day 12
- Morning: free. Or, if you would prefer to be active, an early morning game/birdwatching drive will be available.
- Afternoon: boat game cruise eastwards along the Nile to the foot of Murchison Falls , first discovered by the British explorer Sir Samuel Baker, where the River Nile thunders down through a chasm 20 feet wide. This boat journey is one of Uganda's classic showpieces - full of river wildlife, including scores of hippo and Nile crocodile, and a wonderful display of birdlife which even the most hardened non-twitcher will find it difficult not to be charmed by.
- A brief game drive and/or swim before evening dinner.

Day 13
- Paraa Lodge is situated on the banks of the Nile some 20 miles upstream from its delta into Lake Albert.
- Morning free.
- 3.00 p.m.departure for a 4 hour game drive on the northern side of the Nile extending westwards down to the delta.. Game includes buffalo, giraffe, elephant, kob, waterbuck, hartebeest, oribi etc. plus a great variety of birdlife and, with a bit of luck, lion and maybe even leopard. Also searching for the shoebill stork, one of Africa’s rarest birds and certainly one of its tallest.
- Return at dusk. Evening dinner.
- o/n Paraa Lodge
Day 14
- 07.00 hrs departure from Paraa Lodge for the journey back to Entebbe/Kampala (DT 7 hrs).
- After crossing the Nile for travel southwards towards Masindi, diverting to visit the head of Murchison Falls en route.
- Journey break at Masindi before continuing east and then southwards on the excellent tarmac road to Kampala/ Entebbe.
- End of safari.
Day 15
- In the itinerary above 'DT' refers to usual driving time on main journeys
- Although it is very unusual to have to make any major changes, UGANDA EXPERIENCE reserves the right to amend any itinerary and its overnight stays, if necessary, in the interests of a successful tour. You would always be advised in advance, as soon as possible, of any such changes. Please note also that, whilst a programme of activities is suggested for most days, there is no compulsion to take part except, of course, when essential journeys to your next destination have to be made. You can always opt out and ‘do your own thing’ !
